As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Sierra by the Sea to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, on-site visitation is no longer allowed at Sierra by the Sea.

  • This restriction has been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • We are offering visitation through telehealth services so that our patients can remain connected to their loved ones.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services are being vetted and may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

  • All staff has received infection prevention and control training.
  • Thorough disinfection and hygiene guidance has been provided.
  • Patient care supplies such as masks and hand sanitizer are being monitored and utilized.
  • Temperature and symptom screening protocols are in place for all patients and staff.
  • Social distancing strategies have been implemented to ensure that patients and staff maintain proper distance from one another at all times.
  • Cleaning service contracts have been reviewed for additional support.
  • Personal protective equipment items are routinely checked to ensure proper and secure storage.

Sierra by the Sea offers personalized care in a safe and supportive environment for adults age 18 and older who have been struggling with substance use disorders and certain co-occurring mental health challenges. Features of treatment at Sierra by the Sea include multiple levels of care, gender-specific services, and superior clinical support.

Multiple Levels of Care

In order to best serve each person who heals with us, Sierra by the Sea offers individualized treatment at the residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels. We also provide a detoxification program. Depending upon your unique needs, goals, and progress, you may receive services at one or several of these levels.

At each level of care, you’ll follow a personalized treatment plan, engage with an array of therapeutic interventions, and benefit from the guidance and support of a team of experienced professionals.

Our ability to provide focused programming at multiple levels of care means that our treatment teams can develop and deliver the customized care that’s ideally suited to you.

Gender-Specific Services

At Sierra by the Sea, our experts understand the many different ways that substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns can impact men and women. We also appreciate the unique challenges that individuals of both genders may experience during their time in treatment.

For these reasons, all care at our center is provided via gender-specific programs. Our gender-specific environment is a safe and supportive place where you will be encouraged and empowered to transcend the pain of your past, reconnect with your innate strengths and abilities, and achieve to your greatest potential.

Superior Clinical Support

Throughout your time at Sierra by the Sea, you’ll be under the care of a multidisciplinary team of experts.

Depending upon your unique needs, you may work with psychiatrists, drug counselors, master’s-level therapists, nurses, a nutritionist, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapists, marriage and family therapists (MFTs), clinical technicians, and other professionals.

Your treatment team will continually monitor your progress and, when necessary, revise your personalized treatment plan to ensure that you’re receiving maximum benefit from our services. We realize that you will be with us for a relatively short amount of time, and we’re dedicated to providing you with the superior clinical support that will enable to you to make sustained long-term progress.
